A High Court in Edo State has granted bail to activist Harrison Gwamnishu, who had been in police custody over allegations of misappropriating part of a crowdfunded ransom meant for a kidnapped couple.
Gwamnishu was arrested following claims that funds raised to secure the release of a young couple abducted in the Aviele community near Auchi on November 22, 2025, were not fully accounted for.
Confirmation of the bail was made public by Ossai Success Ovie, an aide to the Delta State Governor, in a post shared on Facebook. In his statement, Ovie wrote:
“Harrison Gwamnishu has been granted bail at the High Court of Justice in Edo State. Very Dark Man and others are now disappointed. Their plans failed woefully. I am disappointed in them all. Glory be to Jesus.”
With the bail ruling, Gwamnishu is set to regain his freedom while legal proceedings in the matter continue. Authorities are expected to pursue further investigations as the case progresses through the court.
