Nigerian-American actress and TV host Osas Ighodaro has opened up about a heartbreaking experience from a past relationship that ultimately led to its collapse.
Speaking about the incident, Osas revealed that she once decided to surprise her partner by driving to his house without informing him ahead of time. Upon arrival, she said she knocked and waited for about five minutes before he finally opened the door.
Instead of welcoming her, she recalled that he immediately questioned her presence, asking, “Why didn’t you say you were coming?”—a response that instantly made her uncomfortable.
According to Osas, she attempted to enter his room but noticed that the door was locked. When she asked why, her partner told her that a friend was inside. After pressing further, he eventually admitted the truth.
“He said, ‘It’s not a guy, it’s a girl,’” Osas recalled, adding that he then asked her to sit down, saying they needed to talk.
She said the situation quickly spiralled out of control. Rather than resolving the matter, her partner reportedly called security and had her escorted out of the house. Although she initially left, Osas said she later returned to confront him, noting that they had been together for three to four years.
The final moment that confirmed her suspicions, she said, came when he told her he had involved the police because he did not want her to “go to jail for fighting a pregnant woman.”
Osas explained that hearing this confirmed everything she feared and marked the definitive end of the relationship.
Osas Ighodaro has been a prominent figure in Nollywood for over a decade. Born in New York, she moved to Nigeria in 2012 and rose to fame through roles in projects such as Tinsel, Rattlesnake: The Ahanna Story and Gbomo Gbomo Express. She has won several accolades, including Best Actress in a Drama at the Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards.
Beyond acting, Osas is also a respected event host, having anchored major platforms such as The Headies and the AMVCA. She was previously married to actor Gbenro Ajibade, with whom she has a child. The marriage later ended in divorce.
Her candid revelation has since sparked conversations online about trust, boundaries, and red flags in long-term relationships.
