Award-winning actress Osas Ighodaro has taken on a leading role in Imported Bahu. This new cross-cultural drama series blends elements of Nollywood and Bollywood storytelling in a mobile-first format.
The actress unveiled the project on her social media platforms alongside the release of its official trailer, giving fans a first look at the highly anticipated series.
Imported Bahu is the first vertical micro-drama produced by Forever 7 Entertainment, a production company founded by Nigerian-Indian filmmaker Hamisha Daryani Ahuja with a mission to foster creative collaboration between Nigeria and India through storytelling.
Unlike traditional television series, vertical dramas are short-form episodic productions filmed in portrait orientation and designed specifically for smartphone viewing.
The series also stars Bollywood actor Rajniesh Duggall and centres on the arrival of an “imported wife” whose entry into her husband’s Indian family sets off a chain of emotional conflicts, secrets, and unexpected twists.
In the trailer, Osas appears as the central character whose presence disrupts the family’s dynamics and challenges long-held household traditions.

Announcing the project, the actress revealed that she had deliberately stepped away from her usual productions to focus on bringing the story to life.
“For months, we’ve been keeping a secret. Today, we’re finally sharing it. Introducing Imported Bahu – @forever7entertainment’s first vertical micro-drama series,” she wrote.
“A story of love, family, secrets, and one Imported Bahu who turns everything upside down.”
The series is scheduled to premiere on July 2 on Lebara Play, a telecom-backed micro-drama streaming platform.
The project marks another milestone in Osas Ighodaro’s career, which has seen her evolve into one of Nollywood’s most respected actresses.
Before establishing herself in Nigeria, Osas began her acting journey in New York, appearing in theatre productions and independent films, and later joined the cast of the long-running television series Tinsel.
She has since featured in several acclaimed productions including The Bling Lagosians, Rattlesnake: The Ahanna Story, Man of God, The Smart Money Woman, and King of Boys: The Return of the King.
Her performances have earned widespread recognition, including two Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards for Best Actress in a Drama, which she won in consecutive years for her roles in Rattlesnake: The Ahanna Story and Man of God.
With Imported Bahu, Osas adds another unique project to her growing filmography while helping to bridge two of the world’s most vibrant film industries through a fresh and innovative storytelling format.
