Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress in the 2023 elections, was reportedly assaulted by suspected thugs at the Lagos City Marathon on Saturday morning.
Sowore, along with his media team, were attacked during the marathon, with the thugs also targeting journalists covering the event.
Many of the victims were injured and their equipment, including cameras, was destroyed in the attack.
A video captured the thugs physically assaulting him, his crew, and the journalists, with one thug seen grabbing a journalist by the neck while he was filming.
