BREAKING: Seyi Makinde Renames The Polytechnic Ibadan

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has officially renamed The Polytechnic Ibadan in honour of the late Dr. Victor Omololu Olunloyo, a former governor of the state.

Seyi Makinde made the announcement on Thursday during the state burial ceremony held in tribute to the former leader, who passed away a few weeks ago.

Dr. Olunloyo served as the governor of the old Oyo State from October to December 1983, becoming the first Ibadan indigene to hold the office. He also notably served as the rector of The Polytechnic Ibadan during his lifetime.

In honouring his legacy, Governor Makinde declared that the institution will henceforth be known as Omololu Olunloyo Polytechnic, Ibadan.

He said the renaming was a gesture to recognize and preserve the contributions of the late Olunloyo to education and governance in Oyo State.
