United States tech billionaire Elon Musk’s satellite internet company, Starlink, has officially resumed customer activations across Nigeria.
In an email sent out on Saturday, the firm announced that its services are now available nationwide, with major cities like Lagos and Abuja identified as priority areas due to high demand.
“The internet service provider has officially resumed activations for customers nationwide, with Lagos, Abuja, and other high-demand regions at the forefront of this exciting revival,” the statement read.
Starlink had temporarily halted new customer activations between October and November 2024, citing pending regulatory approvals.
The move follows a controversial subscription price hike in October last year, which was implemented without prior approval from the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC). The internet provider currently boasts over 60,000 subscribers in Nigeria.
