Kid Cudi is stepping into a whole new chapter—both musically and personally. The Grammy-winning rapper and actor tied the knot with longtime girlfriend Lola Abecassis Sartore on June 28, in a breathtaking ceremony held at the Hôtel Cap-Estel on the French Riviera.
The intimate affair was anything but ordinary. According to TMZ, the couple paid homage to the late designer Virgil Abloh, who played a pivotal role in their love story. The two first met seven years ago at Abloh’s debut Louis Vuitton show. Fittingly, the wedding featured a bounce castle as a tribute to the visionary designer. Canadian jazz group BADBADNOTGOOD, who performed at that 2018 Louis Vuitton show, also played at the couple’s wedding reception.
Renowned jeweler Ben Baller created the couple’s wedding bands, blending platinum, rose gold, and gold for a personalized, luxurious touch.
In addition to the celebration of their love, Kid Cudi—born Scott Mescudi—used the occasion to share a piece of his artistic soul. As part of the ceremony, Kid Cudi performed two unreleased songs from his upcoming album, Free, which is expected later this year. One of those tracks, the newly released “Grave”, has already sparked conversation about the artist’s evolving sound and emotional depth.
Lola, a former Louis Vuitton and current ERL designer, opened up to Vogue about their story, saying:
“I was working behind the scenes, and Scott was walking the runway. Our eyes met in the chaos, and there was a silent spark. After the show, Scott walked straight up and asked for my number.”
She described their wedding as “a perfect, flawless day” and gushed about the whirlwind of love and support:
“We’re on cloud nine in our little bubble of love. It’s so overwhelming to receive so much love in such a short amount of time. You want this feeling to never end.”
The couple announced their engagement in April 2023, receiving widespread love from fans who have followed Cudi’s journey from music to mental health advocacy and beyond.
This joyous moment comes in stark contrast to a more controversial chapter earlier this year, when Cudi testified in the high-profile Diddy trial, shedding light on alleged tensions between himself, Sean “Diddy” Combs, and singer Cassie Ventura. That chapter was turbulent, bringing scrutiny and online backlash—but Cudi appears to be turning the page.
In the end, as the saying goes, love conquers all.
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Mescudi on their union—and to Kid Cudi for continuing to grow in art, life, and love.
