American rapper and streamer Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., popularly known as DDG, has revealed that streaming is more financially rewarding than music.
The 28-year-old made the claim while speaking with Nigerian streamer Carterefe, stating that content creators earn more than recording artistes.
“Streaming pays more than music. For real, streamers make more money than artistes,” DDG said.
DDG began his streaming journey in 2014 before transitioning into music professionally in 2016. He gained widespread attention with his hit single Givenchy, released in 2017 as part of his debut EP Take Me Serious.
He later dropped out of Central Michigan University to focus fully on his YouTube and entertainment career, where he has since built a strong following across both streaming and music platforms.
