Calvin Bassey Says Faith in Jesus Christ Transformed His Life

Calvin Bassey Slams Referee After Controversial Manchester United Opener in Fulham Draw

Super Eagles defender Calvin Bassey has spoken openly about his Christian faith, saying that Jesus Christ saved his life and helped him through some of the most difficult periods of his journey.

Speaking to reporters in Morocco ahead of Nigeria’s Africa Cup of Nations Round of 16 clash against Mozambique on Monday night, the Fulham defender reflected on the role his faith has played in his personal and professional growth.

“Jesus is my personal Lord and Saviour. He saved my life and helped me so much,” Bassey said.

“I’ve been through very hard periods in my life, and my faith is something I’ve been able to hold on to through it all.”

Bassey has emerged as a key figure for the Super Eagles under head coach Éric Chelle, delivering consistent performances that have strengthened Nigeria’s defensive setup at the tournament.

Nigeria will face Mozambique in Fes as they continue their push for AFCON glory.
