Iran reportedly fired missiles toward Israel in retaliation for earlier coordinated strikes on its territory.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed detection of missiles launched shortly after the offensive began. Sirens were activated nationwide, and the IDF stated it was actively intercepting incoming threats while carrying out counterstrikes where necessary.
“The defense is not hermetic,” the IDF warned, urging the public to follow Home Front Command guidelines for protection.
The escalation comes after US President Donald Trump confirmed American involvement in what he described as “major combat operations”.
Earlier, Trump had announced in a video message that US forces had begun “major combat operations” aimed at defending American interests by neutralizing “imminent threats from the Iranian regime.”
