Reality TV star and entrepreneur Tacha Akide has opened up about the powerful role her mother continues to play in her life, describing her as the major reason behind her relentless ambition and determination to succeed.
Speaking during an interview with Sunday Scoop, the former Big Brother Naija housemate reflected emotionally on her upbringing and the values she inherited from her mother, whom she described as both hardworking and deeply prayerful.
According to Tacha, everything she does is heavily influenced by the desire to make her mother proud.
“My mum is my driving force,” she said.
“I had a hardworking and prayerful mother. I always feel the need to make her proud.”
The reality TV star explained that she constantly thinks about how far her mother could have gone if she had access to the same opportunities available to her today.
“I feel like if she had the opportunity like I have right now, she would do all she can, and that’s why I keep being me,” she added.
Since rising to fame through Big Brother Naija, Tacha has built one of the strongest personal brands to emerge from the reality show, transforming herself from a controversial housemate into a successful entrepreneur, influencer, and media personality.

Tacha also spoke about her Guinness World Record for the most cosmetic makeovers completed in 24 hours, revealing that her love for makeup began at a very young age.
“Make up is part of my life,” she explained.
“I have been into make up since I was 14 years old.”
According to her, attempting the record was not about talking endlessly about her skills but proving herself through action.
“You have to be into make up for a long time for you to want to break a record about make up,” she said.
“I didn’t want to talk too much about how good I was at it; I just wanted to show it.”
The entrepreneur also used the opportunity to encourage young women to become more fearless, confident, and unapologetic about pursuing success.
“I want young girls to keep getting inspired by my giant strides,” she said.
“I want them to not stop. I want them not to ask for permission. I want them to take up space, walk into a room and not be shy.”
