Media personality Do2dtun has pushed back strongly against filmmaker Jade Osiberu after Osiberu’s criticism of Roby Ekpo’s emotional interview sparked a heated online exchange.
The tension erupted after Roby’s raw appearance on The Honest Bunch podcast, where he broke down while reflecting on his failed marriage to Mayowa, describing years of emotional pain, betrayal, and what he called wasted time.
The interview triggered widespread reactions, but Jade Osiberu drew particular attention after questioning the role of Roby’s friends, suggesting those around him should not have allowed him to go public in such a vulnerable state.
Her comment quickly drew a response from Do2dtun, who defended Roby and challenged Jade’s view of what friendship should look like.
According to him, support does not always mean silence.
Responding on X, Do2dtun argued that friendship takes different forms and insisted that giving someone room to express pain can sometimes be the healthier option.
He suggested he would rather see Roby find closure by speaking out than by bottling up emotions, which could lead to something darker.
That response, however, appeared to intensify the exchange.
What began as a disagreement over Roby’s interview soon shifted into a sharper back-and-forth between Do2dtun and Jade, with tensions escalating as the conversation took a more personal tone.
For many online, the clash has opened broader conversations around trauma, public vulnerability, and whether friends should shield someone from public exposure during emotional breakdowns or support them in telling their truth.
Supporters of Do2dtun argued he was defending emotional release and prioritizing mental well-being.
Others sided with Jade, saying truly protective friends should have kept Roby off a public platform while he was visibly distressed.
But Do2dtun appeared unmoved by the criticism, making it clear he believes giving a hurting friend a voice can be an act of support, not neglect.
The fallout has only drawn more attention to Roby Ekpo’s interview, which was already stirring intense online conversation over the deeply personal revelations he made about his marriage.
What started as commentary on one man’s heartbreak has now become a bigger debate about friendship, boundaries and how pain should be handled in public.
And with both Do2dtun and Jade refusing to soften their positions, the conversation shows no signs of cooling off.
